Schedule and Attendance
As the student, I promise that
I have read the rehearsal calendar and agree to attend all scheduled rehearsals unless communicated to and approved by the director. I understand that all absences are considered unexcused unless:
On original conflict sheet and approved by the director
Communicated to and approved by the director at least 24 hours in advance (via email).
Sick from school with an excused absence.
Should I miss the school day due to illness, I will communicate to the director immediately. I understand that per school guidelines, I can not attend rehearsal if I have been absent for at least half of the school day.
I understand that 2 unexcused absences (OR 1 unexcused absence within 10 days of the show) may result in removal from the production.
As your director, I promise that
You and your family will have access to the rehearsal and performance schedule from the very beginning of the process, indicating dates and times that you are called to rehearsal.
We will start and stop rehearsals on time.
No-Conflict Rehearsals
10 days before opening night all rehearsals are required. No conflicts will be accepted.
Respect and Professionalism
As the actor,
I agree to treat other performers, staff, and spaces with respect, including by only using my phone at appropriate break times.
As the director,
I promise to maintain a safe and respectful place to perform and will not permit disrespectful behavior or comments to students or staff. I will never require you to perform an action in which you do not feel safe. I will also ensure five or ten minute breaks each rehearsal.
Quitting
Performing in a show is a considerable commitment. If you are cast in a show and quit after rehearsals begin, you are not honoring your commitment and this may impact future casting.
